Flight Instructor since 1990
I’m Chuck Hellweg, a professional, flight instructor with 20+ years of experience teaching people like you to fly. My goal is to teach you how to be the best pilot you can be, whether obtaining your pilot’s license or advanced flight instruction. Together we will develop a syllabus that will meet your goals in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics. I have over 10,000 flight hours teaching students to fly with a 98% pass rate for the practical exam. In addition to flight training, I am a retired U.S. Navy Chief Air Traffic Controller, which will help you learn quickly how to communicate effectively in the busy San Francisco Bay Area airspace.
I teach all levels of pilots, in single and multi-engine aircraft, from students seeking their Private Pilot license all the way through Airline Transport Pilot. However, I specialize in teaching in Technically Advanced Aircraft. I am an expert in teaching Garmin G1000 equipped aircraft and have received certification as a Cirrus Standardized Instructor.
I have dedicated my career to teaching others to fly. Your training will be a combination of flight training and ground instruction focusing on the FAA requirements, so that you are able to realize your goal as efficiently as possible. Since, I am a full-time instructor; I can be available to accommodate your schedule. When we are finished, you will be a safe and confident pilot.
In addition to primary training, I can take you further in your flying goals with an instrument rating, a multi-engine rating, a Commercial license, or an Airline Transport Pilot rating. I also prepare pilots to fly in challenging environments such as mountain flying, high-altitude and complex / high performance aircraft.
So whether you want to take your first flight, continue your flight training, or tune-up unused skills, contact me and we will take that first flight together. I am passionate about flying and I want you to be too.
