I am a PhD scientist, UC Berkeley Honored Instructor, certified professional coach, and mom who never imagined I could fly an airplane. I started to fly because I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone, meet new people, and wear cool sunglasses. As a student pilot, I needed a lot of support and encouragement because I was so nervous about doing something that was completely outside my wheelhouse. At first, learning to fly felt like an independent endeavour, but once I found my village everything changed! Being an adult learner presented many challenges, but I kept at it and eventually became a pilot, aircraft owner, and ground instructor.
Personalized Ground Instruction: As a ground instructor, I will work with you one on one to be prepared for phase checks and checkrides by not only understanding the material, but also being able to speak it so you show up with confidence during the oral portion of your exams.
Ground School Instruction: Because I am a biology professor in real life and a teacher at heart, I couldn’t resist creating a live interactive online ground school course to help you gain the knowledge you need to pass the written test or dust off the rust after being away. When in my class, I work hard to:
MOTIVATE you to want to learn
ENCOURAGE you to ask any and all questions
CONNECT you to other student pilots
EMPOWER you to become a knowledgeable pilot
Ground School Reviews:
“Rachael is an energetic and engaging teacher. It’s great to have real-time interaction with a teacher who will explain things in different ways until you get it. I absolutely recommend her class over the other online ground school courses out there.”
-Tim, Software Engineer
“Rachael is an ACE at teaching ground school to Student Pilots. She uses humor and patience to make learning a complicated subject both attainable and enjoyable! I highly recommend this class to anyone looking for an engaging ground school.”
